Driftwood Sculptures for Sale in NYC
My name is Phyllis Rosser and I have been creating wood sculpture for more than 30 years. My journey as a driftwood artist began many years ago when I was attracted to wood washed up on the sand as I walked the beaches of the Jersey Shore. I saved my favorites until one day I started nailing pieces together to create wall-hung driftwood sculptures. To maintain the character and integrity of the wood, I never cut, shape, or trim any of the pieces that I use. I leave them exactly as I find them and combine the shapes to create sculptures with dynamic and fluid energy.
I spend a lot of time searching for the ideal driftwood to use. Finding the most beautiful pieces on the banks of the Connecticut River in Bellows Falls, Vermont. The river is a rich source and provides a variety of sizes, colors and shapes. I weave these pieces together to construct inspiring driftwood sculptures ranging from 12 inches to 8 feet in length. Whether you want to add beautiful and unique art to your home, office or gallery, each of my driftwood sculptures and paintings has a commanding presence that invites attention.
